Tinchy goes at it alone and kills itIts hard to understand why bo mc dizzee signed the Newham Generals and not Tinchy but after hearing this LP I now know. Stryder's got skills... mad skills and Dizzee was probably scared that stryder would overshadow his 'boss.' Unfortunately (and fortunately for rasket)the same thing cannot be said about the duo of D-Double E and Footsie. Anyways, back to the Album. Tinchy's rhymes are as they always are, sharp, raw and straight up grime (most evident in 'mainstream money' 'xtra' and 'not like me.') However his lyrics and lyrical content are deeper and productions tighter than some next mixtape. Thanks to DaVinChe, Tinchy's flagship tune 'something about your smile' was a big commercial hit and was what he desperately needed to seperate this star from the hood from the unfortunate fate of most grime mc's who enjoy the hype as a kid but fall by the wayside when the deals don't come. The only way is up for Tinchy and as long as he keeps his tunes well produced (as they are here) and he is actually saying something in the booth (as he does here)than success is just round the corner.
Best tunes on the album
'Rely on me' - 10/10 - catchy hook, good production and deep lyrics. The way grime should be.
'Perfect Timing' - 9/10 - Stryder's flow is straight up disgusting on this one.
'mainstream money' - 9/10 - wasn't crazy about this tune at first but its well produced and its real. Its all about the p fam.
'Xtra' - 9/10 - this hype tune is up there with Pow and da rest of them.
'something about your smile' - 10/10 - biggle. A milestone in Tinchy's career and guys... dont try and act all stush you know u love it!

excellent albumthis albums great! i haven't always been grimes biggest fan coming from more of a hip hop background, but thought i'd give this a try after seeing him live supporting kano. it didn't disappoint me, full of great tunes, catchy beats and hooks and tinchy's flow and style grows more and more on me each time i listen.
standout tracks are rely on me (best tune on th album), breakaway, working for days, stereotypes, not like me, mainstream money and star in the hood. working for days is just amazing, not you're usual grime tune, it actually has meaning and a perfect beat to match.
overall i would highly recommend this album to any music fan, try something new, you might like it, i did!

StryderrrrrAfter Kano's Home Sweet Home album i have been waiting for another album from the UK grime scene.
Still feelin dizzee rascal doing his thing but something was missing. Never was a fan of Lethals albums/mixtapes
..But the likes of Stryder and Tinie Tempah are the future of UK hip hop. Stryders album is just banging. Every track is top and the issues he talks about is real straight up. Even back in the days with ruff sqaud every1 just knew Tinchy was gonna blow big cos his lyrical flow and content is just on point. Like the dude can spit for days man its serious.
Top Tracks...
Nearly them all but still
1. Hands of Time (Prod. By Rapid) - Serious tune...rapid hol tite u on the beat...makes u just wanna kick back and listen to the realness of stryder
2. Working For Days (Prod. By XTC) - Real talks on this one.. A more serious tune on Black ethnicity. The beat suits the topic and its just on point all throughout.
3. Breakaway (Prod. By Davinche) - Big tune, every1 knows this man
4. Perfect Timing (Prod. By Davinche) - More of a hype tune wit a nuts beat. Something for the whip brap brap Stryder kills it man
5.Something About Your Smile (Prod. By Davinche) - At first i wasnt feeling this track. Was to gurly lol but after hearing it after a while its a top tune. Real talks on this one i can relate. "I Does This Babes"
6. Rely On Me (Prod. By Dirty Danger) - 1 of my favs. Reminds me of kidulthood for some reason. Lyrics are deep
7. Dance 4 Now (Prod. By Dirty Danger & Rapid) - The drop and bass in this tune is serious
8. Not Like Me (Prod. By Rapid) - Best tune of the album. Rapid ur big for this one. Stryder ur flow is jus raw. When am pumping this tune every1 is moving to it no joke. Grime at its best.
On the whole this album is just to serious. Watch out for stryder in the future. Ruff Squad all day zoop zoop

2 brilliant songsI've only heard 2 of the songs, but they are both amazing R&B/Hip Hop tunes with both rapping and singing and I can't wait for the album. Forget trying to buy legal mp3's for them though - don't really like Ytunes or Napper personally.
