Worked with Ubuntu out of the boxOpened the box, plugged it into my EEE PC running Ubuntu Hardy Heron, loaded GTKTerm, selected the USB serial port (/dev/ttyUSB0) and it worked. All in all, less than thirty seconds. Excellent.

Does the job. Sort!I bought this last week, it didn't really work for my PC which has Vista, ithe software installed automatically so I assumed it has worked but when it came to updating my device the adaptor was not getting recognised.
It all worked fine with my laptop which runs on XP, for which I had to use the CD which was provided.

Works with PsionApparently, USB-serial cables are a bit hit and miss when it comes to connecting the Psion Series 5MX 16MB to your PC. I have a VAIO running XP and this cable worked so I've resurrected my Psion after all these years in the attic.

Warning about driver CDBe warned that the drivers come on a 3" (8 cm) CD which cannot be used with the slot-type drives, only those with a tray.
My main computer does not have one of these, but fortunately I had access to a computer which does, so was able to copy the drivers across.
The driver installation worked first time (Windows XP) and the device I wanted to connect (a GPS) also then worked first time.
So 5 stars if a proper sized CD had been suppled.

Now my Palm IIIx works againI wanted this to enable me to connect my old Palm IIIx to my current PC which doesn't have an RS232 port. With this connector installed and fitted today, HotSync runs and accurately transferred some data. All my old data went some time ago when the batteries in the IIIx died, so it's start from scratch time, but that's not the fault of this device.
