Side one is like a concept album and is actually very good. Songs like Exodus (not to be confused with the Bob Marley song) take the Boney M sound forward. There are two excellent balads on this album (not normally Boney Ms forte) Where Did You Go and Somewhere in the World (one of my favourites).
Much of side two is a bit muddled as Frank Farian tinkered further with the Boney M mix. 'Dizzy' is a solo by Frank Farian which does not help matters. Much of this album has that awful dated 80s sound and lacks the charisma of previous releases. This was the last Boney M album that really mattered. Final studio album 'Eye Dance' released just a year later is really best avoided.
This is Boney M's (the fifth studio album was released in December 1981, The Christmas Album which contains Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord, see my review...) sixth studio album and was released in February 1984, even though it failed to chart here in the UK it was a top selling album across Europe. It contains 13 tracks plus two extra tracks. One of the extra tracks is the December 1982 single The Carnival Is Over which is a cover of The Seekers number one single released in 1965, even though it failed to chart over here it is one of my favourite Boney M singles. There is a cover of the Tommy Roe 1969 number one single Dizzy, a fantastic ballad called Where Did You Go and my favourite song on the album Somewhere In The World which was my brother's and I favourite song. My Brother Pete died of Cancer on 14th January 2003 and this song was played at his funeral. This is another one of my favourite 80's albums.
