Different yet wonderful album!!
This CD is different to what Gackt had previously presented as a whole Album, but its definitely worth the money!! It shows the incredible variety he posseses with music- whereas beforehand you might have categorized Gackt in j-pop, this album definitely puts him into j-rock- and rock he (and his music) does! ^_° br /Enjoy!

A Gem
Already a huge star in his native Japan as well as in China and Korea, br /Gackt is probably not a familiar face in Britain unlike in France or Germany where br /the strong followers of Japanese pop culture( Anime, Manga, Otaku etc )exist. br / br /Contains a beautifully presented booklet of lyrics in Japanese. br /For those with limited Japanese talent br /all the lyrics are translated in English in a very "literal" way. br /( very helpful for A-Level Japanese students ). br / br /Fluff175 (May 2006 review of the Japanese import version also sold by Amazon UK) br /has written a fantastic detailed review of the songs, which I completely agree with. br / br /I love the way the CD is a nice mixture of light-metal ( not too heavy ) rock br /in a sort of Ryuich Sakamoto "Japanesque" way br /and cheerful or dramatic "Japanese Anime tunes" kind of J-pop elements. br / br /A gem.

Gackt rocks
This isn't my favourite of his albums, but it is brilliant all the same. I adore Storm and Black Stone. Metamorphoze is the theme for a Gundam film, so may be recognised by some. Very cool rock/metally album. I'd get 6th Day first though.

Pure Genius!
Diabolos is a Fantastic album! Consisting of 13 tracks which all demonstrate Gackt's amazing musical ability. All the songs are in Japanese, but you seriously do not need to understand a word of the language to enjoy the music. br / br /The first track on the album, Misty, is a short instrumental piece (2.18). It is a relaxing/chill out piano track with violin thrown in for good measure. br / br /Farewell, the second track, is rock tune. As always, it displays the amazing vocal talents that Gackt possesses. As the title implies, the song is about saying goodbye. I read the translated lyrics and it is a story of two people saying goodbye and wanting to survive the pain of parting. br / br /Noesis is another rock tune that has a very cool sound to it. Noesis apparently means "pure knowledge; cognition". The lyrics in the song refer to staying alive; I think the song is about the struggles of life. br / br /Ash starts a gentler track and then kicks into guitars and powerful vocals with fantastic imagery. br / br /Metamorphoze is cool rock tune about love. Again, very cool lyrics to go with a rockin' tune. This track was used for the film "Gundam Z". br / br /Dispar a very kicking song. With heavy guitars and lots of drums, almost a frantic feel to it. br / br /Future is a very relaxing ballad with violin and acoustic guitar. br / br /Black Stone, this is a very fast, kick-ass tune. It is very up-beat and makes you smile. br / br /Storm has a different sound to the rest of tracks on this album. It has mixing in it with piano, guitars and drums to keep the sound rich. br / br /Road isn't quite a ballad but is calmer than other tracks on the album. I love the lyrics in the song, it's about not giving up and having someone there with you to give you the strength you need to keep going. br / br /Todokanai Ai to Shitteiru no ni Osaekirezuni Aishitsuzuketa... - possibly the longest song title in history! Translates as "Even though I know that my love will never reach you, I continue to love you uncontrollably..." It is the only track on the album that has a Japanese title. It has quite a dramatic opening that is very attention grabbing. I think it has to be one of my fave Gackt songs. It just sounds fantastic, it kind of along the same lines as Guns N Roses "November Rain", through the pure energy of pain from the loss of a love (but much shorter!). br / br /Basically Diabolos is fantastic album with plenty of variation to the tracks to keep you interested. Unlike many albums nowadays, each track has a distinct difference and songs don't blur into one another.
