Alterbridge - Deserve to be HugeThis album along with their first I just can't stop listening to. Vocals, guitar riffs top notch. Composition of all the songs great - even the slower tracks are listenable to.
"Ties That Bind" is stunning.
"Blackbird" takes me back to the earlier days of heavy rock.
I could go on waxing lyrical on the greatness of this album but the easiest thing is to say if you like heavy rock with imaginative well composed tracks with incredible vocals and guitar work - go out, buy it and treasure it!

Blackbird - stunningStumbled across Alter Bridge just looking for something new to listen to. Bought 'One Day Remains' first and right from the first track I knew this is the kind of music I'd missed - something of substance, class and melody. This band is complete - superb....but anyway back to Blackbird - don't care to be honest about the rest of the tracks Blackbird is absolutely, totally, stunningly captivating - and having listened to it over 30 times in the last 6 days I've still got a long way to go before I'm bored of it.....the only song to rival it this decade if Sober (my December) by Kelly Clarkson (listen to it before you judge!!!)....
Brilliant - I only hope they don't break up or fade into mediocrity

Blackbird soars above! The second album from Alterbridge is great considering the story behind it - after splitting up from sony records (which I thought maybe the end of Alterbridge) they sign with universal & release an album of sheer rock riffage. The album doesn't slow down pace at all (until it gets to the balladic watch over you - which is a great song by the way!).
I have already been promoting the album with friends & so far have gotten thumbs up - I would love 2 see these guys in concert as think this album would sound great being played live - I can only hope the UK record buying public allow themselves time 2 listen to this album as there are songs on this album which could enter the charts - I wont detail them as many others have done in previous reviews - All I can say is buy this album u won't be disappointed

They don't make them like this much nowadays! In an age where mainstream 'hard rock' is dominated by uninspired bands like Nickelback and.... well Nickelback, and with Audioslave never living up to their potential, and seemingly a new bunch of emo kids crying through their eyeliner every month on MTV - this is a breath of fresh air!
I was maybe a little harsh before but bands like Nickelback are just so unexciting that to hear an album like this makes me glad I've still got long hair and like hearing someone playing his damn guitar like he means it!
Its basically unashamed heavy guitar rock with anthemic choruses, incendiary solos, crunching riffs, thunderous drums and a great set of Chris Cornell-esque vocals. Its energetic, sing-along music - great for driving or working-out.
Only four (I would say 4 and a half!)stars because it is a little one-dimensional and at 14 tracks is maybe a little too long without some more different sounding tracks. The first 8 or 9 or so are solid gold though! Highly recommended for fans of Audioslave, Soundgarden, early Queens of the Stone Age, Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Corrosion of Conformity, the Sword etc
