girl group heavenIf you are a fan of the 1960's girl group era you need no converting ..if you have got this far you will most probably be in possession of all the main tracks of this genre,,but you are in for a treat. This girl sang with the Crystals and was a member of the mysterious group 'Bonnie and the treasures'.
So i suggest that you get this CD as soon as possible, close the curtains and dance to the first selection of tracks and sing "The thrill is gone" at the top of your voice..whatever you do i am sure you will love this CD if you loved the chiffons , shirelles, Delrons,Crystals and all the other voices of that music explosion.

Clydie's Solo GemsFinally, fans of Clydie's solo records from the 60's get a compendium of her releases on the Imperial and Minit record-labels from the years 1965 to 1968.
Clydie has of course had an illustrious career as a session-singer, backing super-stars such as Dylan, Dusty Springfield etc etc..as well as being one of Ray Charles' Raelettes .
The first 6 tracks comprise of the three 45's released in 1965/66 on the Imperial label - and surround Clydie's vocals with sophisticated wall-of-sound arrangements. The tracks were recorded at Gold Star studios - where Phil Spector created his famous Philles productions, indeed, many of the names involved in these Imperial tracks by Clydie will be familiar to fans of Spector; Jerry Riopelle, Marshall Leib and Gene Page.
Clydie herself often worked on the sessions that produced Spector's classic hits.
The quality of the prodution, arrangements and of course Clydie's vocals on these Imperial tracks are outstanding , my only qualms are that in comparison with wonderful sound-mastering job done by Ace records on "The Thrill Is Gone" & "Missin' My Baby" (which featured in their "Phil's Spectre.." CD realeses) - the same tracks here sound slightly 'muddy'- particularly "Missin' My Baby". The echo that is on the original 45 release of "He Always Comes Back To Me" seems to missing off the original master that is presented here too.
The remainder of the tracks are those which were recorded for Minit Records. Some were released as singles, but there are quite a number of un-released tracks from the same period here too. Although less orchestrated than her Imperial sides, the Minit tracks are nicely-arranged classy up-town soul typical of the period - which once again showcase Clydie's beautiful vocals that were frequently utilised in the service of other artisits work, but here, her voice is allowed shine alone.
