Worthy recap on fine F1 season2007 was one of the best Formula One seasons for years. There was drama, controversy, fantastic races, suprise faces, and more. This season review does it's best to compress the excitement into one watch.
So what does it do well? Firstly, it includes alot of action from each race, and despite the lack of replays, it does do enough to provide the best action from either end of the grid. Pretty much everything notable is included. Secondly, the special features. such as the ones on Super Aguri and Williams, make a very interesting break from the action.
The DVD does lack a little in interviews, and doesn't really consider the off-track events as much as they actually affected the season.
However, naturally, this is a great watch. I say naturally. Well, they didn't really need to try hard - it was a fantastic year. So it's certainly worth purchasing, whether it be the first F1 season you've taken note of, or one of many you've seen.

BrilliantI think that this was actually a better review than some people are giving credit. this covers all the big issues of this year and gives you some information you may have missed first time round. the interview with mark webber and david coulthard was good.

Lots of action but sparse on facts2007 was one of the most interesting Formula 1 seasons in recent times. The championship went down to the final laps of the final race where 3 drivers all had chances to win the title. It was a controversial season featuring the spying saga between McLaren and Ferrari, and a season that welcomed Lewis Hamilton into the sport and saw Kimi Räikkönen finally crowned World Champion. For this I think it is worth buying the DVD because 2007 was a season of highs and lows, and was a season to remember.
However the review is not the best review ever as it seems to deviate from the successful style used in past years. Again the producers feel the need to add unnecessary music tracks to the action at some of the races, and they tend to not inform the viewer of the timing of events. The season preview at the beginning is terrible as it doesn't describe the rule changes, it hardly makes reference to the post Schumacher era, and the review seems to be focused more on action rather than telling the facts or contextualising them. This is highlighted by qualifying being very poorly covered in a style similar to the review in 2006 with drivers talking over their qualifying laps at some of the grands prix - whilst this can be interesting, the viewer is not informed of how the other drivers performed in the qualifying sessions, which means at the start of races one has no idea of which positions the main drivers started from making the races confusing. Further to this there are very few interviews with the drivers before and after the races, the focus seems to be on playing a clip of the podium before moving onto the next race! The review DVDs seem to have become more emotive over the years, and this means that this DVD may not fully reflect the story of the season factually. Little reference is made to the spy saga and its huge ramifications, and the fact that if McLaren had not lost their points in the saga they would have won the constructors championship. No mention is made to the fact that effectively the title was finally given to Räikkönen at court in November weeks after the final race. I think too much time was spent on the first races, leaving the crucial final races of the season rushed. However the exclusive onboard footage is fantastic as some of it did not appear on TV. The special features are not outstanding; the highlights of these are the interview with Sebastian Vettel and Gerhard Berger and the interview with Lewis Hamilton which are both good.
Overall this DVD has many shortcomings but the 2007 season was a classic and this is the only DVD on the market to review the 2007 season. This makes it worthwhile to buy.

A bit miss leadingI have been getting this review for the pass few years and have incressingly found it a bit missleading. It gives no perspective of time during the races, for istances at the European GP it makes no point of the fact that Alonso passed Massa with only a few laps remaining, nor does it show the ture reaction of people when Lewis Hamilton took his first win.
I found the best parts were the special features which seem to improve year on year (there were none in 2005). This year there is interviews, perviews and features (6 all together).

Getting Better Each YearIt helps of course to have a good season as was the case in 2007 but the official reviews do seem to get better each year and this one has its attention focused firmly on the track and not on the politics, although 'spygate' is covered too. There are things i missed first time round - like how close Coulthard's flying Red Bull was to Wurz's head in Melbourne. Getting the drivers to talk through their pole position laps is a nice touch. There are some extras as well to make this good value for money package. Now hen is Ecclestone going to commission the conversion of the vhs years (pre-2003) to DVD?
