Recommended good value Hard DiskI have now bought four of these drives. One in my Sky HD box, two for my Readynas Duo and one for my PC.
All have been running with no problems, The one in the SKY box has been in for a year and is never off.
Would recommend these drives no problem and an excellent price..

PVR (Sky HD) UseGot this drive over a year ago. Purposely for use in my Sky HD box. It does what it says on the tin! Very quiet in operation.
To start I had to initiallise it in my PC (I used external caddies). Then I used 'copy+' to copy my original HDD over to the F1. Effortlessly done. Well impressed. About to purchase another on for my new Samsung HD box.

BewareThis is a very cheap drive but comes with problems. It does struggle connecting with my motherboard and freezes the whole system when copying to it. with the use of the Samsung HDD utility I was able to reduce the speed to SATA150. The freezing problem seems to be cured. My Western digital HDD has no problems at 3GB/s. On scanning the drive there is a huge number of defective sectors. Low level format is required to remove these. Buy with caution! The internet is full of people having problems with this drive. Two 500gb Western Digital drives would have been a much better option.
EDIT: format hanging at 3%. This drive is rubbish!

Want a paperweight? This harddrive looked promising for it's price at first but it has been nothing but a problem. I experienced so much grief from it over the past few days. I installed an OS on it, and once I had it crashed, it wouldnt reboot into windows, so i reformatted again, it crashed in windows again, still not rebooting into windows.
I tried installing another reliable preused OS. It installed, thought everything was going to be fine until I went install drivers and it crashed again. Once again, no rebooting into windows.
I tried everything possible to make this work well and it didn't. I went back, tried to recover with XP system recovery, tried to recover from the disk, tried to work in safe mode. This HD is just no good.
I installed XP to DIFFERENT harddrive, everything works fine.
I'm forwarding for a refund.
Go for something else. If you got one that works thats great. But it seems there are loads of people getting problems with this HD.
