Confusing in every way.The first thing you notice about this keyboard is the looks.
Its half Back to the Future Delorean dash board, half 80s ghetto blaster and half Next Generation Enterprise.
See I told you it was confusing.
The build quality is OK but not as good as other Saitek Keyboards Like the Eclipse. I found the whole thing quite rattly.
The touch sensitive panel is more firm jab sensitive than touch.
Its mostly used to mess with the lights of which there are many. The lights at least are quite fun so long as you like Christmas colours. Its all red green and gold. No classy purple or cool blue Im afraid.
The thing that annoyed me the most was the 'metal' keys (which are just painted plastic) Im not great at typing but found the shiny surface quite jarring in the middle of a sentence. Even worse if you look at the keyboard as the 4 silver wasd keys are very off putting and often made me miss type.
The keys are very mushy too with a half key height of travel.
The software for programming the extra keys down the sides is very ruff.
It just works but offers very little help along the way.
Unless you really like the look of it or intend to only play games and never type I would say avoid it.

DisappointingHaving pre-ordered the item in February, the delivery date was postponed time after time, and eventually arrived in June. I thought that the extended delay in delivering the product would mean that it worked.
It was immediately apparent that they had not even bothered to create a help file for the keyboard, and instead included a help file for a different product - really useful, since none of the screenshots actually matched up to what I was seeing.
After several emails to tech support, explaining that the macro keys on the side didn't work, tech support said that they knew that, and hoped that customers would be able to figure out the solution, and when they did, they'd let me know.
Despite repeated emails, all of which have been ignored, Saitek have still not been able to provide working drivers, and the keyboard remains only partially working.
I have even asked Saitek for a refund, but all emails to sales have also been ignored.
I would strongly advise against Saitek - it seems that whilst keen to get a product advertised and sold, when things go wrong, you're on your own.

Good but not perfect.I had high hopes for this keyboard having owned the eclpise 2 and finding it not only brilliant for gaming but also comfortable to for typing, and not too over the top, however the cyborg keyboard has some flaws. For gaming it is brilliant the the ability to light certain areas of the keyboard and not other is brilliant, as is the ability to turn off the windows button.
however from an ergonmic perspective it is a bit lack lusture, the keys feel a bit clunky, and the metal coated ones (wasd, space and arrows) have a nodd and distracting texture that makes them a different weight to the rest of the oard meaning touch typing is just unpleasent as you never know if you have pressed hard enough, the keyboard also is a tad more ugly in reality than the image shows, it looks a bit retro in a bad way, and although the build quality seems high I feel the keyboard was rushed, for example, the drivers werea mess and new ones have to be downloaded before the volume lights work, meaning you end up with 3 Saitek programs running from start up, one being the keyboard driver, one for the lights in the volume indicator (!) and one for the comand buttons on the left and right, which in a game are too far out to be of use but are great for programs like photoshop or MAX if you don't want to learn shortcuts. Also missing features from the Ecclipse 2 would be the fact that it no longer lights blue, seems lazy, and I was partial to the side lights but that is purely cosmetic.
the fact that you can get the sound and mic through the keyboard is a nice adition, as is the touch sensative strip to control media tings and lighting effects. the light is bright and even in the day shows up well, apart from the metalic keys which just look crap, very tempted to swap them with the keys from my old eclipse 2 as the level of uglyness the silver adds to an already busy keyboard is indescribable.
overall:
strong wellbuilt and versatile keybaoard with a serious ugly problem and a gimmick overload leading to some keys being awkward if you want to type, not just play games.
