We're men...yes men in tights...
Mel Brooks unique spin on "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" takes its viewers on a zany whacky ride as he tells his version of the story in his usual famous and much loved "spoof style". br / br /Robin of Loxley, a young and handsome much loved hero, makes his long trip back to England after a long extended leave in Africa during the Cruisades. His return brings him to find that his family home has been "repossessed", all his family have died most tragically. Not only this, but in the King's absence, the King's brother John has appointed himself as the new King and is letting the Sheriff of Rottingham run amock in the lands. br / br /With dashing bravery, a street wise side-kick named "Achoo" (an early true to form Dave Chapelle) and an endless supply of green tights, Robin begins to to recruit men for his band of merry men so that they can fight the forces of evil in Sherwood Forest and restore order. br / br /Full of song, dance, and the comedic moments that will have you no doubt rolling your eyes (but inwardly smiling despite yourself), it's a great movie to brighten up any gloomy Sunday. br / br /Don't expect a comedic masterpiece in the vein of "Young Frankenstein", "High Anxiety" or "Blazing Saddles" (Brooks' previous successes), but at the same time, let yourself be open enough to just enjoy it for what it is, a simply funny but slightly silly comedy.

The Legend Had It Coming!!!!
I have several Robin Hood films and you know, I think this one is the best by a mile. That could be because I love madcap humour, but it also could be that I love Mel Brooks films. br / br /Robin Hood? The legend definitely had this coming to it when you think about it. Errol Flynn in his green tights trying the English accent that Cary Elwes does so well, or not as you may be the judge. Then the TV series and a couple of films from Hollywood and Disney, with even a film with Mr Connery, but now we have this one. br / br /If ever anything deserved to have the mick taken out of it then this is it. Check out the late, great Isaac Hayes who is in prison for jaywalking and his son, Dave Chappelle as a Malcolm X impersonator and you will see what I mean. br / br /Absolute brilliance from end to end. And Amy yasbeck is not bad to look at either. Definitely worth the money! br / br /

Absolutely Brilliant
Definitely buy this movie. Excellent plot, sattire, Mel Brooks at his best. br / br /This is film you can sit down and guarantee yourself you will enjoy every minute and watch again and again. br / br /A must for any comedy collection, all the actors play an excellent part and I would say its even better than Prince of Thieves!

unmissable!
I've seen so many versions of Robin Hood...Patrick Bergin, Kevin Costner, Errol Flynn, Richard Todd, Michael Praed, Jason Connery...not to mention the recent tv series; but Cary Elwes really takes the mickey out of all those films in a brilliantly funny way. No matter how many times I watch this one, it has me in stitches from the opening credits, all the way through to the very end. Robin Hood - Men in Tights is not supposed to be a serious film. It takes the mickey out of the entire Robin Hood genre, and even out of itself. It is hilarious, irreverent and very, very refreshing to watch. Don't miss this film!

Blinkin fix your boobs man, you look like a bleedin' Picasso!
I have just ordered this DVD because I have had the film on VHS for about 10 years now and I want a more future-proof version of the film to keep as it is a classic! br / br /As a 10 year old, myself and my younger brother absolutely loved this film! We used to play it over and over again and to this day know almost every line! br /What I have started to learn over the very recent years is all the adult humour that goes on throughout the film which as a child I did not understand, but as I say I still loved this film from a children's point of view and the adult humour is subtle that kids won't notice it. br /I would recommend this film for people of all ages! It caters for everyone! br /If you like acting daft and having a laugh then you will enjoy this DVD. br /It is great fun to watch! br /BUY IT! :)
