Faulty and can't get it repaired
The mouse pad on my laptop is fauly. I would not be so dissatisfied if I could contact them. I tried to contact them two or three times at Christmas in relation to this problem and they ignored my request. I kept getting a message stating if I did not hear from them within two or three days to resend the querey. I don't see the point in constantly resending my querey as it must be going to an e-mail address that isn't manned. After all, even a dog would learn quickly enough that they are not getting the desired response from their actions! I am now trying to log the same querey on line as I am fed up with this fault, however, when I try to log the problem on line I am told the serial number is not right. How can they tell me it's not right when they put it on my machine. br / br /If I really hated you I would tell you to buy an Acer laptop!!! And that means they're a really BAD BUY. I guess you get what you pay for. I can only imagine quite shortly the mouse pad will go completely and my laptop will be next to useless and it is not even 1 year old yet.

Acers are not ace.
I've had my Acer for 5 months now. And for the past 4 weeks I haven't been able to charge it properly. That means I had my laptop 4 months before it became faulty. It charges intermittently, it's a very stubborn piece of machinery - just when I need to do some work it doesn't want to charge. Is it the cable? Is it a problem with where you plug it in? God knows. Acer certainly doesn't. Terrible customer services! Had it sent off for repairs and they said they could find nothing wrong. It worked fine for them - well, it doesn't for me! My advice - don't buy an Acer, they're more trouble than they are worth.

Acer aspire 5315
I bought this computer last year. I orderd it a week before xmas and i got it on the 23rd dec,, Since that day it has run fine and still looks good for the price. The only issues i have with the computer is that at times i do find the fan to be a little noisy and the vista is much slower than the previous windows i have used, but on the other hand its a good allrounder for working movies, games, some modern games struggle but its a laptop it you want to play great graphic 3d games then i would buy a entertainment pc for gaming,,thumbs up for this laptop,,,worth buying.

Excellent value for money, and a robust and reliable laptop from Acer!
Firstly, when I originally got the laptop, I have never looked back. It runs fine, works with no major hiccups, and so on. br / br /The specs, for what I paid for (£300 at the time) was excellent. The setup works so that I can do whatever I want to do with no problems, whether that was word processing on Word 2007, or some old PC game, runs fine. The laptop can be easily upgradable, which I like in laptops. RAM and Hard Disk (and Processor if you are really daring) can be upgraded, and the laptop responds to the new upgrade with no problem. br / br /Vista Home Basic, just about your basic Vista, easily upgradable. The Acer tools included, some of them (i.e. eNet and edatasecurity) are very useful indeed, Arcade is a good (but no replacement for) Media Centre, some of the software bundled is good as well, CyberLink I have used very well. br / br /The keyboard is well responsive, the touchpad is responsive (even after accidentally nipping it with a soldering iron, silly me). Screen, couldn't have asked for better - bright, clear, perfect. The body is robust and well built. It has survived a drop when the unit was open from a height of about 70cm, lived to tell the tale (not that I recommend doing that, I severely don't). Also the DVD burner, I never expected it to be a dual-layer burner, very very happy with that functionality br / br /The wireless technology is also very good, it can even pick up the Wireless network from the pub across the road! br / br /Anyone looking for a low end cheap laptop which doesn't fall apart on week 3, I recommend this laptop!

bad luck?
was very happy with it in all respects. actually bought it from e-buyer and returned it today for full refund due to the keyboard feezing after three weeks, apparently due to a hardare problem. now going to buy same acer aspire 5315 model from amazon as it happens to be £10 cheaper and I know amazon have a good customer service policy too.
