So this is what off screen chemistry can do....!
The film was down and out enjoyable, believable and one of the few Bolly films aren't too fanciful without losing their fun-ness.
Kareena Kapoor is at once likeable as the hyper-talkative Sikh girl Geet Dhillon who meets a distraught and directionless Aditya Kashyap (Shahid Kapoor), an industrialist's son who until now had everything going for him. Without dilvulging the details too much, Aditya learns from Geet her carefree way of living, living from his heart rather than his brain while Geet is busy preparing to run away and elope with her boyfriend Anshuman because he's not a Sikh. Thanks to Geet, Aditya turns around his own life completely, becoming her in a sense, only so he can go back to her and save her life when she needed him most. The songs are beautifully choreographed, colourful and melodious, while Manish Malhotra makes a lasting impression with Kareena's wardrobe.

Only reason why I gave 4 stars was because of bad casting choice with an essential character: Anshuman. In order to truly bring out Geet's dilemma in the second half, it should have been a strong actor with at least a passing screen presence. In the film he's the only unpolished, utterly unconvincing actor, but perhaps that makes the end that much sweeter.

Perhaps both of them are so convincing because of their own off screen status as a couple: if that's the case it's sad we won't get to see more on screen chemistry!

Overall, this was a fun film that you will watch again and again, if only to feel good - worth your time and money!
Kudos Imtiaz Ali for another very enjoyable film!
