It's a cross between a comedy show with Lovejoy the best footie clips. Some of these type of DVD's can just be a bunch of clips which have all been seen before. This is totally different. It's more like a Tim Lovejoy Soccer AM comedy show even if you're not a fan of Tim's, the clips are refreshingly new (as well as some old classics, given a different twist by Lovejoys usual humour). Highly Recommended, great gift or just to watch have a laugh on your own. Nice way to support a great charity as well. A fiver well spent.
I have gathered quite a few of these football funnies DVDs over the years. Sometimes, they are a bit more filler than killer but I am happy to say that this is the best that I've seen in a while.
br /There is the usual clips you might expect - including the full infamous Keegan rant which has lost none of it's shock value having not seen it for a while. There is also the other usual suspects, Arsen Wenger's stock interviews of when he 'didn't see it', David Pleat's donkey-like charge across the pitch, Brian Clough punching various Notts Forest fans when they invaded the pitch - and much more.
br /What is also interesting is the amount of rare archive footage of several clubs, including Man United Arsenal managers, dictating team talks in a chummley-Warner style - so alien to the rants of today.
br /However be warned, I am still recovering from seeing the footage of a nude Jack Charlton parading round the dressing room or the various soap rub footage from the 70's - not for the squeamish.
br /Nice extras from previous Sport Relief TV shows included as well. The young Rooney sketch is brilliant, but perhaps the Ron Manager (Paul Whitehouse) interview with David Beckham was a little ill judged. Beckham is cringeworthy in a pretty horrible scripted mock interview.
br /Altogether a pretty decent package for less than a fiver. About an hour of footage which is good for the price. With a few bob also going to charity, I can say this is was a decent purchase.
When you think of all the football managers, all the gaffes, unintelligable nonsense uttered by some of the great football managers I thought this dvd would be amusing. The reality Tim"im so funny"lovejoy talking TRIPE all the way.Jose Mourinhino on his own could have made this a lot funnier with his tv interviews!!!!Should have been more managers less lovejoy.
br /The only thing that cheered me up was that half of the cost went to charity mate!!!Avoid at all costs.
