The work out is pretty good, but . . . .
Ok, first things first, I've always been a fan of Claire King. I always liked the fact that she was a real woman so to speak, and was proud to have a size 12 figure, something most of us can aspire to. Hence my reasons for getting this dvd. I did it for the first time yesterday, and yes, today I ache, which has got to be a good sign, I hope! However, there are a few things that I'm just not keen on, maybe I'm being picky, but a review is supposed to be honest after all! The first thing, I find Tom, the instructor, incredibly boring. He really doesn't seem to me to have any motivational skills at all. Secondly, both Tom and Claire seem to rush through things without explaining them properly. It would've been a good idea at the beginning of every section to show you the moves that you'd be doing so you could have a little practice, instead of thinking, whoah, slow down guys, wait for me! Thirdly, and this really annoys me, is the fact that Claire seems like she is reading from an autocue the whole time. There isn't even any light banter between her and Mr Dull the instructor, absolutely everything just seems scripted with none of her personality coming through at all. Fourth, at no point do they say how many times a week we should be attempting to do this, what would be suitable for different fitness levels, nothing, which I find a bit of a let down. Fifth, I really wish during the exercises that one of them would give us a clue as to exactly when we should be breathing in and out? You can't even watch them for a clue as most of the time he is talking, and Claire's mouth never seems to move, which is odd when they distinctly told us to exhale through the mouth. You'd think at some point there would be a little gap in Claire's lips when she's breathing out, but not that I've seen! To me, all this missing advice is fairly important and it's a crying shame it's not there as it would make this dvd a lot better. As for the workout itself, I will say that it is perfect for those like me with little space as no prancing around is required. So long as you have room to lie down, you can do this dvd! The routine and method is very very similar to one advertised on the tv shopping channels a while back called the 28 Day Fitness Solution, all about using slow precise movements and keeping you body tense while doing so, meaning no need to go out and buy dumbells etc. So on the whole, yes, give it a go, but watch it through maybe a couple of times before you attempt to join in so you might have clue what to do when! I can't be the only one who can't see the tv when my head is on the floor, can I??? PS, also just found out that Claire is a relatively heavy smoker, not exactly a role model for the fit and healthy then? Hmmm.

It does work for those of us with specific areas to work on
I must say that I have bought many fitness (videos over the years! - I am showing my age!). As I have got older however I don't want to be jumping around anymore. I am not a lover of exercise as I am quite tired when I get home from work every day. I must say however that I am managing to do this DVD several times a week. It is easy to follow and the time goes quickly. You can do all of it in one go or just a few sections of it. Also I have noticed that I have toned up already after a few sessions. What I liked about it is that Claire doesn't come across as a fitness fanatic who works you until you collapse like some of the fitness instructors on some DVD's, but a real woman who just wants to target those areas many of us have problems without spending a fortune in gyms or doing complicated exercise routines. Definitely worth buying - one for us real women!

The ultimate dvd!
I LOVE this dvd!
As the owner many, many work out dvds, most of which I have got bored of after only a few tries, I was wary that this one wasn't going to be all it was made out to be.
But it really does what it says on the tin! I've done this every day for the last 10 days (to do all the sections only takes about 40 mins) and already ive got really toned arms, and my bum is perkier, and my stomach much less wobbly! admittedly I was slim to start with (i've always been a bit obsessed with keeping toned) but none of my other exercise efforts have ever brought results this quickly.
And because the sections are so quick and simple, I dont get bored.
Definately 5 out of 5 for me

Phew!
I have been doing this complete work out for nearly 6 weeks now, usually 5 times a week. I have definately toned up but have not lost any weight at all. I eat healthily too; is it that the muscle weighs more than fat so the fact I have not gained nor lost means I have probably lost in theory!! Still with me?!! When I refer back to the teaching techniques and see Claire's body I feel a little deflated, wondering if mine will ever be like that. Mind you I am 6 years older than she is and have three children, albeit a long time ago! I think a little bit of bouncy music might liven things up a bit as it can get a bit tedious. However it is nice to be able to do this when convenient and the more you use it the more cost efficient it is instead of fitting a time in to get to the gym and spend cash on the ever increasing price of fuel to get there! Just got to keep the enthusiasm up now!

works from the start
i'm a 42 year old, busy self employed driving instructor in need of toning losing weight too, but after 4 kids it's all needing toned.
have managed to do this 3 times since i bought it and i feel the difference, everywhere, and i haven't managed to do it all either, done all the seperate bits but not the total body workout.
you put in the amount of effort you want, more effort equals more results
some of the transitions are really fast but i guess that when i know the routine better it won't be an issue.
the only thing i hate about these dvd's is listening to the same drivvel each time you do it but i'm able to fast forward through the bits that claire is talking lol
i thoroughly recommend this dvd, you really feel you have worked hard but there is no jumping around, thank god!
