What a pity
From all the starry names involved, this should have been interesting. It's a mess. Instead of trusting the ramshackle but robust original version, the director has filled this one with twists and additional dialogue that take out most of the fun and subversion of the piece. The sound quality is poor. The songs, short in any case,are chopped up and hurried through. Might be of some interests to conoisseurs of cinematic oddities. Don't try it if you're new to the Baggars Opera and want to see what it's like.
