Not as good as it looks
I bought this to compliment my samsung TV for my bedroom mainly because it was compact and looked sleek. After linking to the TV using a HDMI cable I was disappointed with the sound and quality of the picture. I tried all the settings but couldn't get a great picture. Had to have the volume very high to get any good sound from my DVDs. Also the remote is very small and you have to have tiny hands to operate it. Overall was disappointed with this model and had to take it back.

Excellent value upscaling DVD player.
As title suggests, also very nice looking and very compact machine, i take it away caravaning and also use it in the bedroom at home. I purchased it from AVD Germany very cheap and fast delivery, I saved almost £30 on RRP.

Samsung DVD - F1080/XEU - Small and Handsome
When you look back just a few years and think of those DVD players built like a tank and the size of a sideboard drawer then compare to this machine. br /I have it next to a black Samsung 32 inch TV. Together they look fabulous. The DVD player so neat and inconspicuous. The best news on this unit is the quality of the picture; it is first class with a price tag to match. If you are looking for a compact hi quality DVD player at a realistic price I can highly recommend this unit.

RUBBISH!
Maybe I got the only faulty machine, not sure. DVDs skip with alarming frequency, even on brand new ones. Remote control is absolutely useless, as have to point it with extreme precision, sometimes for about 5-10 minutes before anything happens, by which point I can't be bothered watching anything. Picture and sound are good, but when it freezes and skips every few seconds at times, my tolerance wavers!

Rubblish
Brought this DVD player with a Samsung 32 TV last Christmas from Amazon. I now had enough; both are rubbish and the DVD player has the worst user interface I have ever seen. I have now given both free to my brother. I will never buy anything from Samsung again, very low standard.
