Certainly, the second number entitled "Letting Us Be" is a beautiful composition. The album is produced by, and has an instrumental contribution from, the legendary Kelly Joe Phelps, which gives the overall recording some genuine gravitas. Paul Curreri is a talented guitar player and this album also allows him to show off some difficult techniques with comparitive ease.

br /Although this album might not change your life, and it might be overly country-fied and non-threatening for some listeners, it nonetheless has enough sincere and moving music to make it worth a punt by anyone who enjoys acoustic singer-songwriters, particularly in the mould of his wife, Devon Sproule.
In a nutshell, Paul Curreri (Devon Sproule's husband) is a fine guitarist and singer in the traditional country mould, but he is no Devon Sproule, whose song writing is far more contemporary and experimental and therefore more interesting than Pauls. Check out Devons Keep Your Silver Shined, to hear what can be done with a little more imagination and flair.

br /It's not that Songs For Devon Sproule is unlistenable, but it is rather forgettable sadly. It must be really flattering to have your husband write a whole collection of songs for you, but that doesn't automatically mean they're all going to be gems, and they're not, at least not on this release.
