br /Will keep you stuck to you tv for hours.
Before I get into my review - Can I just say that I only paid £6 for this and if I could give it ZERO stars I would.
br /
br /1) The special effects for this season have got to be the worst I have ever seen, they make 1960 Doctor Who FX look good.
br /
br /2) The actors are so wooden and lifeless, they must all have been on autopilot, and they all are second rate nobodys.
br /
br /3) The directing and editing of scenes is so jumpy and choppy its a pain to watch.
br /
br /4) The music is 80's Hard guitar rock that is so out of place with the rest of the show its like it was added at the last minute.
br /
br /This was very cheap £6 for 22 episodes and that should give you a clue as to the quality of the show! It looks as though the effects and wages bill was £6.

br /Avoid if youre a Flash Gordon Fan and avoid if you love Sci Fi - its enough to put any one off the genre for life.
I purchased this dvd box set and after watching episode 1 I thought I had wasted my money. But I decided to stick with it and watch some more; by the end of episode 5 Flash Gordon had become my guilty pleasure. Its a cheesy low budget sci-fi and I and will never compare to other great sci-fi shows, but its really worth the watch, it really is fun and some of the ideas and spin on the classic flash Gordon is very good and by the end the characters had really grown on me. Well worth it at under £6.00.
Although it is not true to the original series, the new Flash Gordon is certainly entertaining. Despite being initially disappointed that Ming lost his pointy beard and scary eyebrows in favour of a slick warlord look, I realise this is appropriate to the Nazi metaphor that underlines his administration and attitude towards the "Deviates". For anyone who enjoyed Emma Caulfield's portrayal of the socially awkward Anya in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you will love Karen Cliche as Baylin. A bounty hunter from Mongo trapped on Earth, her inability to understand certain social niceties results in some highly amusing one liners. For all those Sci Fi geeks out there, there is also an appearence from Andromeda's Rhade (Steve Bacic) as the Verden Leader. Although Dale Arden could just as easily have been played by a plank of wood with a face drawn on, this is generally a good series and well worth a watch.
Very good series fast paced not too serious the only down side being no Brian Blessed lol
