Synopsis
Find out what happened after the wedding in the second series of the BAFTA award-winning sitcom that proved just as popular and acclaimed as the first. Gavin is an ordinary boy from England, Stacey is an ordinary girl from Wales. After speaking on the phone to each other every day at work - they finally met, fell in love and got married. Series One of Gavin and Stacey told the simple love story of two young people from different parts of the UK and the impact their relationship had on their friends and family. It was met with critical 5-star acclaim across the board because of its ability not only to tickle our ribs, but to touch our hearts as well. Now, for Series Two, we travel back to Barry in Wales and Essex in England to find out how Gavin and Stacey's marriage is working out, what is happening in the lives of their respective families, and, more importantly, if their best friends Nessa and Smithy are finally getting along with each other.

AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEY ALL IS SAID AND DONE!!!
What a fantastic comedy, Britain has been lacking a good heart warming comedy for years and now its here Gavin and Stacey,What a fantastic bunch of characters from Smiffy and Ness to Gav's mum and Dad, I bet everyone knows a family or a character they can relate to,I know i do!!!
Its the type of programme you can watch again and again and you will pick up on a few puns you missed before. Cracking highly reccomended and the 2nd series does not let you down just like the 1st.Watch it...

Loving this show here in America
I'm an American and while I don't get every reference (especially about geographic differences and lesser-known celebs), I'm really enjoying the world that Gavin and Stacey has created.

I don't want to watch the last two episodes because I don't want it to be over. And I had no idea that Nessa was the bartender from Little Britain. That's so cool. I love the words she uses to describe things. It's really smart and funny even though it's basically "a day in the life" type of a show.

The music and tv shows coming out of England make me really sad for my corporate controlled, cookie-cutter entertainment produced here.

Tidy
Great again. The greater emphasis on Nessa and Smiffy in the second series is understandable (given the writers and the natural story-arc) and effective (given the quality of the product). I thoroughly enjoyed this comedy from the first episode of the first series. No weak points, no nastiness (except for the hilarious bickering couple), no wasted screen time.

And Uncle Bryn has inspired me to thank my sat-nav every time it gives me an instruction. What more do we need from a comedy series?

Just to let you know...
Great series, you can read all the other comments about how good it is!

BUT...

There is a double episode at Christmas 2008 which will be the last episode ever shown, so you may want to wait for a product that contains those episodes as well, likely to be out soon after. They're following the same business model as The Office, with two series and a Christmas special (Nessa and Smithy to get together?).

we still can write brilliant comedy!
I was beginning to think that the Brits could no longer write, produce or give comic performances any more. It seemed that only them from "over the pond" could write clever, witty and subtle comedy and then along came Gavin & Stacey. Wonderful, dry, laugh out loud, superbly acted, situation comedy. Every character in it is written with such care and fleshed out so as you cannot help but like them. Rob Brydon is fantastic as is Alison Steadman, as Gavin,s mum. The mix of Welsh dark naive poetry and Essex laddism is an inspired combination and emphasises the differences whilst at the same time highlighting the similarities (contradictory) but true! Lush and Tidy and more power to the Gavlar and Stace and good on yer Smithy and Nessa!!!!!
