Absoluteley hilarious take on the Full Metal Panic series
Following the events of the first Full Metal Panic series, this outing sees our main charcters return for a slightly unorthodox sequel. Instead of sticking to the same action packed style of the previous series, Fumoffu takes a less serious and more comedic tone throughout, making it seem more like a parody of a high school romance than a hard hitting mecha action anime. Hardcore fans may be put off by this, but I assure you that this series is absolutley hilarious and is just as enjoyable as its' predecessor. You just need to try and not take it too seriously.

This series is about the misadventures of war veteran Sousuke Sagara as he goes about protecting Kaname Chidori as she goes about her school life. Sagara attempts to fit in as an everyday student while Chidori has to deal with his tendency to over react to even the most harmless of situations. An example is Sousuke blowing up his school locker believing it to be a terrorist bomb threat, though it is only a love letter from a fellow class mate. At 13 episodes long, you may think that this type of humour may get predictable and boring, but I found that the series was consistently hilarious throughout. Especially when it comes to the last episode in which Sousuke accidently releases a biohazardous substance in a classroom, and therefore has to quarantine all the students and the teachers. However, believe me when I say that the end result turns out to be absoluteley priceless.

Once again the animation continues to be superb, as well as the music. I was glad to see that all of the original english voice actors came back to reprise their roles. Chris Patton and Luci Christian continue to shine as the protagonist characters. In one episode, Sousuke's comrades Melissa Mao and Kurz Weber return. The womanising and quite perverted Kurz Weber is hilariously captured by renowned voice actor Vic Mignogna (Full Metal Alchemist, Dragon Ball Z, The Wallflower). During the episode, Weber and two of Sousuke's classmates attempt to peek on Chidori and the other females while they are bathing, however, this is all blown out of proportion when it turns into an epic struggle of will power and self discovery. It is hilarious how this series takes basic concepts and then parodies them; I found myself laughing out loud all the way through this.

Even though this series follows the first, it can be watched at any time, without confusion. Those looking for the more action packed, story and character driven animes should definetely check out the first series, however if you enjoy comedy animes then this may be the one for you as it is one of the funniest I have seen. Full Metal Panic is an incredible sequel/spin-off series while also exceeding as an individual series on its' own.

Funniest anime I've seen
Despite what the synopsis says, this isn't a reworking of FULL METAL PANIC!

This is a sequel although it can be enjoyed seperately, the first series shows how the characters met and so on. It is really worth watching the series in order, with FUMOFFU being the lighthearted break between the slightly more serious first and 3rd seasons. But this series is certainly my favourite of the 3. Whereas series 1 and 3 feature a mix of serious military/mech action and slapstick humour, FUMOFFU's devotion to comedy, more intimate focus on the characters' everyday escapades and unusual struggles make this a more enjoyable watch. How far will Sagara go to protect Kaname from the horrors of high school life?

Funniest anime I've ever seen, and Sagara has to be one of the best characters ever imagined in any format.
