Some decent tunes but no substance
The singles sounded great, but really this is a disappointing, lightweight album. br /Several of the Motownesque songs initially catch the attention, but do not bear repeated listening. The production is slick, and Sharlene sings well. br /It's all very tasteful, but this is an album which will be listened to a couple of times and then forgotten.

Better than I expected.
Given that I haven't truly enjoyed a Texas album since 'White On Blonde' I wasn't sure what to expect from this solo effort. I have to say I was hooked from the first play. It's full of good tunes, very sixties northern soul orientated there is obviously a big nod to the Shangri-Las in there. I just don't get why some reviewers are seeing this as a negative. I love listening to sixties pop Northern Soul am more than happy to be hearing more of this style of music. Not quite five stars, but it comes close for me.

Quite difficult to grow in you head....
It seems the songs in this new album of Sharleen is quite difficult to grow in your head if you are used to listening to Duffy and Amy Winehouse..I think Sharleen's voice is too sweet for this kind of music..Apart from the hits, All the times that I cried, and Stop, I dont love you anymore, the rest are just...hmmmmm...just a stare on the ceiling hoping to grow and ripen.

No stars
I don't get the attraction at all. The dullest most devoid of emotion voice I've heard in a long time. No passion.
