Synopsis
The Inbetweeners offers a comedic take on growing up in middle class suburbia. A place where there are no teen pregnancies, no drugs, no knife fights and no guns. It’s about a bunch of lads who get into real scrapes rather than real trouble.

Will’s (Simon Bird) parents have just divorced and he has unwillingly had to move area and change schools. He was previously at a private school, so has inherited some snobbish tendencies. He’s now at a comprehensive school where he has had to make a new set of friends. His newly found peers, Simon (Joe Thomas),Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison) are neither that cool and or that credible.

Extras
– Audio commentaries by the writers/cast/ producer
– Video diaries from all four cast members
– The making of documentary
– Meet the cast (what the boys are really like)
– Deleted scenes

Synopsis
Combine the juvenile smut of SUPERBAD with the cringing embarrassment of PEEP SHOW, against the 'stylish' backdrop of GRANGE HILL, and what do you get? E4's hilarious new comedy THE INBETWEENERS. A super sharp, one-liner packed celebration of the highs and lows of being a teenager. Perfectly capturing the relentless disappointment of suburban adolescence, the show's four main characters yearn for sex, booze and cheap thrills, without the emotional maturity, money or ID to get them. Briefcase-carrying nerd Will (Simon Bird) has recently left the relative sophistication of private school to join Rudge Park Comprehensive, where he befriends Simon (Joe Thomas), Jay (James Buckley) and Neil (Blake Harrison); a group precariously straddling the social gulf between the in-crowd and the outcasts. This release contains the complete first series, and features a wealth of rubbish insults, even more rubbish come-backs, and plenty of mum-jokes. With some invaluable life-lessons on wooing the ladies, bunking off school, getting served in the pub, and why you should always, always remember proper etiquette on a roller coaster.

I hate to love this....
...as it's utterly filthy and vile (just like teenage boys) but I just can't help myself. What really makes The Inbetweeners stand out is the perfect timing of the actors and the little subtleties in their performances given that the script is anything but. Brilliant!

Hard Times
Simon Bird is William, a young lad from a well-to-do background. When his father leaves, he has to go to a public school, to his horror, and gets all sorts of hassle for having a briefcase, the usual things kids pick on. Soon Wills finds other mates, like Simon, Jay and Neil, all with their own quirks, like Neil's auto defence system when someone says his father is gay, Jay's obsession with the female species, and Simon and his yellow car.

The show looks at their daily lives, from kids at school to guys out on the pull. Some really funny moments like the episode where they go to a caravan park, Simon being sick all over the place and William's run in with Mr Gilbert.

The extras are rather poor in my opinion, 2 deleted scenes, 2 out takes, a couple of video blogs and a meet the cast. It really didn't interest me much, and the deleted scenes really didn't add much more to the story.

This is a good show, bit of harmless fun for young people, but I don't really get the 18 certificate given. It's really for the age group of 15-17, I can't really see why anyone over 30 would really enjoy this, but that's only my view on it.

Worth a rent, wouldn't really buy it, it's not really got that pick it up again and again factor.

Made me laugh out loud
I found this programme on E4 by accident a few weeks ago, and, honestly, it's one of the best/funniest things I've ever seen. Made me laugh out loud and I can't remember the last time that happened. (I'm a miserable ***). All the characters and general plots have been well described by others so I won't repeat their comments apart from agreeing wholeheartedly with them - apart from one (Right, Graeme?) So glad it's on DVD and there MUST be another series. I wish I could buy the entire cast/crew/writers and everyone else a drink.

It's Simply Brilliant!
I bought this DVD after watching the series on TV.
I bought it because it is one of those things i will be able to watch over and over.

Its simply brilliant.. Remember at school, when the teachers pick on you.. You get bullied, newcombers come to the school and get completley humiliated?

Well this is it! But all in a comedy, and it is the funniest series i think i have ever seen!

New Fan!
I was laid up in hospital and don't normally watch later t.v on a Thursday night. I was so lucky to catch this show! I was lying on my bed trying hard to keep in my laughter, as others on the ward were asleep! I am a 37 year old woman and would like to stress, this show dosn't just appeal to young men!
And sorry to 'Two Pints...' fans, but if you're thinking it's going to be like that, you are sadly mistaken. This is funny! It's just hilarious! With a bit of dark/some might say a little sick, humour thrown in!
I've become an instant fan! Just you wait....it'll be one of those shows hardly anyone has seen and then it'll hit mainstream and everyone'll be into it!
