Frank bows out on a high...
I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviewer; it's a shame that this was the last ever series (Alfred Burke feeling that the move away from Thames would be detrimental to the future development of the series). Anyway, this is a much, much stronger series than the 1972/73 season with Frank moving his office from Windsor to Chertsey via a couple of episodes in partnership with the less scrupulous Ron Gash. But Frank is nothing if he's not a loner, genuinely interested in the human story as opposed to the fees (his £6.00 a day plus expenses goes up to £8.00 during the course of the series!). Thirteen episodes full of classic mid-seventies British drama, an era which put much more emphasis on beautifully-paced, character-driven plots than today's vapid nonsense fit only for teenagers with the attention span of Basil Brush (sorry, Basil!). In short this Box-set will disappoint no-one, whether they are die-hard fans or someone who can remember when British television was full of integrity and confidence.

Marker's Way
This is the last chapter in the series. Made in 1975 Alfred Burke once again provides a superb performance in the role of the down beat private eye Frank Marker. After a near death experience Marker decides he's had enough and decides to call it a day. Firbank suggests that he team up with an old police colleague who has turned private eye. So Marker joins forces with Ron Gash but it does not go to plan. It is clear that the relationship will not continue so Frank moves on this time to Chertsey and rents premises from the railway. Although a little shabby its Frank's domain and continues to display the name of the previous tenants Apollo Ariels. This box set contains all 13 episodes in colour. Another series not to be missed.
