Two concerts. No top production of sound or image, but what a beautiful lady and voice.

DECEPTION
The DVD of Linda Ronstadt "Decades A 10 Year Collection" would have been great if the recording was at the height of the artist. br /I love Linda Ronstadt but this DVD is a complete failure! I am disgusted! br /The sound is horrible, deaf as if it had registered illegally. br /The image is worse! br /Even an amateur record is clear! br /The image is blurred, shooting poorly framed, poorly made plans. br /The sound is too bad, is it stereo? In any case it is not in 5.1. br /I am very disappointed with this DVD, there are others to Linda Ronstadt? br /

Great performances rendered in low quality images and sound
First I want to complain about the cover picture - I would not have thought it was possible to make Linda Ronstadt look ugly! The contents of the DVD are superb - two full-length concerts with no distractions, just the songs, including many of Linda's best. However the picture and sound quality are both fairly primitive, perhaps not surprising allowing for the time that has elapsed, and the fact that these are live performances with all that implies for the lighting and amplification used, but still a bit disappointing. I'd like to see a similar disc with Linda's TV appearances which (judging by samples on You Tube) should have better quality reproduction. Well worth the money all the same.

Great Concert, Poor Sound
The DVD consists of two concerts, they appear to be London 1976 and the Mad Love Concert from Los Angeles broadcast in 1980. br / br /The London concert has VHS picture and sound quality which is fair enough given the concert vintage and low cost of the DVD (although you can pay quite a bit more than the Amazon price) br / br /I suspect however the LA concert was the one you would most want to remember. Sadly although picture quality is similar the sound quality is much worse. It is just about acceptable played through a TV but plugged into an external sound system (I tried two!) there is considerable distortion. Some of the performances are available on You Tube and they sounded better than the DVD on my computer !! br / br /The low price makes it a good buy for dedicated fans but the sound quality may disappoint buyers hoping to enjoy the music through a good sound system.

as i had never been able to obtain the video, this was a real surprise and well worth it.
