Smug annoying Sam
At first I agreed with all the many negative comments this new Fireman Sam has attracted, and my little'un also spent a couple of weeks saying 'get this off', but now she's used to it she watches it a lot. And I've got used to the fact it's not as good, and reckon it's OK entertainment all in all. The worst thing though is Fireman Sam himself, who's turned into the kind of smug fire-fighting irritant you wouldn't ask round if your front room was on fire. Did the makers decide he was too appealing when he was a likeable character? Let's hope Elvis can polish him off with a rock cake, and then we might be getting somewhere.

My son's favourite programme
My son's favourite programme, loves it even more than the previous ones. Just wish there were more episodes on the DVD as there are many more on TV.

Be prepared to be disappointed
My 3 and a half year old was so disappointed this morning. Fireman Sam is an idol in our home (our 13 month old daughter enjoys it too!) and this 'New' DVD seemed ideal. br /Dont be fooled - there is nothing new at all. The label on the front says 'unseen episodes' - A blatant lie. br /This remade series has been run on Cartoonito - there is nothing new on the DVD.

Fireman Sam New Hero Next Door
My son has been addicted to Fireman Sam sice he's 3. This DVD keeps him quiet for abour 3 hours, that is good for a hyperactive boy like him.

terrible.
I agree with all the negative comments. I have no idea what HIT have done, but for children like mine who love the "old" (if 2006 counts as old) Fireman sam dvds won't understand this is the same person! The computer animation is cheap and rough, the storylines are hard to make sense of, and one of the best characters, Bella, has gone! Ok, but why introduce the father of the twins as some dummy? br / br /The whole thing is a big let down as other reviews have suggested. No doubt if you don't own any other fireman sams its fine for what it is, but when my 3 year old kept asking to "watch old fireman sam" when this was playing and then fell asleep during it, you have to wonder what HIT have done with such a classic formula. HIT have some clips from this new dvd on their website, i would look at that first before ordering this. br / br /Very disappointing.
