This guy has been producing great music for fast approaching 20 years now. And it shows on the album cover. Large Pro is clearly not afraid to show hes been around for a while. He's also not a bad rapper and this, his new joint, is a pretty solid effort to boot.

br /First off, I hate the album title. What does "Main Source" mean? It's been the best part of 15 years or more since the band broke up. The guy should have gotten over it already! He's got more than enough in his locker to build his career irrespective of his past and the title is just a little pointless.

br /So to the important stuff; the music. The album starts off pretty strongly. "Hot, Sizzlin', Scorchin'" is just that; "Maica Livin" uses the old hook to good effect and it is one of the stronger tracks on the album. The album then kinda drifts for a while until it picks up again with the Jeru, Lil Dap and Noyd ensemble.

br /Then come the fantastic "Classic Emergency" and "Rockin' Hip-Hop". The mix-transition between those two tracks is genius and together they are awesome. That mix alone is the finest bit of hip-hop I've heard in a while. The second track of the two is the highlight of the album by far.

br /So, all-in-all, not a bad effort. The title is rubbish, but the production is good and the rhymes and guest appearances are tight. I just wish this guy could get himself a deal on a decent label.
