Still driving people mad around seven years--yes, seven!--after his landmark iPop Idol/i win (it's almost enough to make you dewy-eyed for the early days of the Simon Cowell TV talent franchise), mainly by refusing to be typecast as a one, or two, or three (etc.) hit wonder and continuing to be so alarmingly consistent, Will Young returns with iLet It Go/i, his fourth--yes, fourth!--album. Of course he's never quite so bold as to actually be alarming; it's easy listening, wholesome, modern soul-lite pop all the way from the former politics graduate, kind of like George Michael without the underlying tension, clawing requirement to prove himself or mind-boggling tabloid scandals. Any of that would just serve to muddy Will's waters unnecessarily, there's purity here like a ripple on the surface of a crystal lake that rebounds languidly to and fro across these 13 tracks, one that is reflected in and a necessary backdrop for his suave, mildly textured and famously powerful voice. This is Will's fourth album and although pleasant it is featureless. The previous three albums showed a trend to more and more innovative and unique music. This last album not really to my taste, it lacks 'attitude'.

Miss it at your peril!!!
This album was a long time coming from Mr Young but it does not disappoint. If you want an album that you can play, and then want to play again..this is it. It has a great lyrical content and some wonderful arrangements and Will's vocals are impeccable. I was particularly impressed with the somtimes forgotten last track on this album.."Free My Mind". It just jumped off the CD to me being so different from the others. So simply but so wonderfully haunting. br / br /If you have never heard the depth and quality of Will Young's vocals and experienced his quite surprising strong songwriting ability, this is an album not to miss.

Outstanding!
Bought the album about a month ago on the recommendation of a friend. Since then it's hardly been out of my CD player. It's just brilliant! Powerful lyrics, beautiful melodies and breathtaking vocals. It has a great mix of upbeat, mid-tempo and ballads and Will's voice shines through on every track. It's hard to choose standout tracks as they are all so good but a special mention for If Love Equals Nothing and Tell Me The Worst which are utterly spinetingling. Won't Give Up and Are You Happy are great upbeat, feel-good songs. I highly recommend this album.

HAVING LISTENED TO THE OTHER TWO RELEASES THIS CD SHOWS A MORE MATURE SOUND AND TO SAY THE LEAST WILL YOUNG;S VOCAL ABILITY,ITS A PITTY IT HAS NOT DONE HAS WELL COMMERCIALY.BAZZABOO NOTTINGHAM.
