Pixar genius reigns in this funny romantic comedy, which stars a robot who says absolutely nothing for a full 25 minutes yet somehow completely transfixes and endears himself to the audience within the first few minutes of the film. As the last robot left on earth, Wall-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is one small robot--with a big, big heart--who holds the future of Earth and mankind squarely in the palm of his metal hand. He's outlasted all the "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class" robots that were assigned some 700 years ago to clean up the environmental mess that man made of earth while man vacationed aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom. Wall-E has dutifully gone about his job compacting trash, the extreme solitude broken only by his pet cockroach, but he's developed some oddly human habits and ideas. When the Axiom sends its regularly scheduled robotic EVE probe (Elissa Knight) to earth, Wall-E is instantly smitten and proceeds to try to impress EVE with his collection of human memorabilia. EVE's directive compels her to bring Wall-E's newly collected plant sprout to the captain of the Axiom and Wall-E follows in hot pursuit. Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with Wall-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth. Wall-E is a great family film with the most impressive aspect being the depth of emotion conveyed by a simple robot--a machine typically considered devoid of emotion, but made so absolutely touching by the magic of Pixar animation. Also well-worth admiring are the sweeping views from space, the creative yet disturbing vision of what strange luxuries a future space vacation might offer, and the innovative use of trash in a future cityscape. Amazing intro - poor storyline!
I was amazed at the first 30 minutes of this movie as it was just absolutely brilliant. I perceived it as rather philosophical and edgy but after the initial euphoria I was really dissappointed with the remainder of the movie as the storyline never developed. br / br /In terms of picture quality - the disc performed well.

Wall-E is Pixar at their best and simply amazing on Blu-ray!
The thing I love about Wall-E is the way that alot of the story and humour is done, is very much like an old classic silent film which is sheer genius. Wall-E is very cute in the way he goes around collecting old junk and compressing it into little cubes in which he builds massive skyscrapers with. When Eve arrives from out of space Wall-E's life is never the same again and what a fantastic journey is unfolded for our little hero. The animation and sheer detail in Wall-E is Pixar best yet it really is breathtaking at times. For my own personal taste Wall-E is my favourite Pixar film yet with Finding Nemo taking 2nd and Toy Story 3rd hope this helps you out. br / br /

Brilliant .. simply brilliant
This film is incredible and will appeal to the whole family. While the image quality is stunning, and the sound wonderful, it is the simple yet beautifully told story that impress beyond the techy marvels on offer.

An exceptional movie in all ways
I watched the movie several months ago on standard DVD and couldn't wait to get the blu-ray version once I had my HD TV. I can say, without any hesitation, this is one fantastic movie. Not only is it technicaly brilliant, with perfect visuals, sound and of course animation. It is also brilliantly written. More than any other Pixar movie I felt a real connection with the characters. Wall-e himself is just so sweet. Well done to Pixar and Disney for what must be one of the greatest movies of the last 10 years. br / br /Ideal for families and adults alike. Don't be put off because it is an animation. Wall-e feels a lot more human than many of todays big budget movie stars.
