Pixar genius reigns in this funny romantic comedy, which stars a robot who says absolutely nothing for a full 25 minutes yet somehow completely transfixes and endears himself to the audience within the first few minutes of the film. As the last robot left on earth, Wall-E (voiced by Ben Burtt) is one small robot--with a big, big heart--who holds the future of Earth and mankind squarely in the palm of his metal hand. He's outlasted all the "Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class" robots that were assigned some 700 years ago to clean up the environmental mess that man made of earth while man vacationed aboard the luxury spaceship Axiom. Wall-E has dutifully gone about his job compacting trash, the extreme solitude broken only by his pet cockroach, but he's developed some oddly human habits and ideas. When the Axiom sends its regularly scheduled robotic EVE probe (Elissa Knight) to earth, Wall-E is instantly smitten and proceeds to try to impress EVE with his collection of human memorabilia. EVE's directive compels her to bring Wall-E's newly collected plant sprout to the captain of the Axiom and Wall-E follows in hot pursuit. Suddenly, the human world is turned upside down and the Captain (Jeff Garlin) joins forces with Wall-E and a cast of other misfit robots to lead the now lethargic people back home to earth. Wall-E is a great family film with the most impressive aspect being the depth of emotion conveyed by a simple robot--a machine typically considered devoid of emotion, but made so absolutely touching by the magic of Pixar animation. Also well-worth admiring are the sweeping views from space, the creative yet disturbing vision of what strange luxuries a future space vacation might offer, and the innovative use of trash in a future cityscape. Wall A++++
This could well be one of the best movies ever made. It is hillarious, yet warm, and carries a vital message.
Those who have given the film a bad rating for the fact it contains little dialogue in the beginning, no doubt do not have the mental capacity to understand the true beauty of this amazing film.

So much better than Mamma Mia!
Read Empire's gushing review and went to see it myself . They put into print pretty much what I thought .Bravado animation - so much without even a meaningful word . Indeed I prefer the movie before the people speak. Every last bit of emotion is wrung out of a computer drawn robot with few facial features.Magnificent animation and story

But all I hear around my office - it's boring my kids got bored (no mention of whether They liked it because they think animation is just for kids) and then gushing praise about the poorly directed/produced/written/acted/sung Mamma Mia ! ~Yes the Abba songs are great . But the film is mince . Why cannot anyone see through that ?

Answer ? As Scott Adams (Dilbert guy) says - people are idiots . Not all the time. Just enough of the time for society to not fall apart

wall.e is amazing!
Wall.e is a fantastic film. He is a loveable robot with an amazingly detailed world around him. Not only is the story amazing, the music is fantastic too. The special features are incredible (and have helped me in my assignment about related films!)
I 100% recommend this film.

40 minutes of pure poetry
This is a brilliant film as a whole. But I'll remember the first 40 minutes the most.

The first part, with almost no dialogue, is as close as I have ever come to pure perfected poetry on film. In the darkness of the cinema I watched pictures that were not sad, but I still felt like crying. For the beauty. It's like a dance of intertwined emotions - when it's sad, it's funny; when it's fearsome, it's graceful; when it's robotic, it's human. The lack of dialogue enhances the experience. A masterpiece.
