Amazon.co.uk Review
Though Oasis are forever fated to live in the shadow of their initial success, they remain capable of producing exciting and touching music, and IDig out Your Soul/I continues the upswing in their fortunes sparked by 2005's iDon't Believe the Truth/i. Unashamedly an album of two halves, the first part is heavily loaded with Noel Gallagher's tunes, including the pounding single "The Shock of the Lightning", a taut and pacy rocker nearer to the light touch of the Smiths' "The Queen Is Dead" than their usual Pistols-inspired power plod. The rocking "Bag It Up" shares nothing but a title with Geri Halliwell's already forgotten 2000 hit, while "Waiting for the Rapture" takes Lennon's harrowing "Cold Turkey" as a template, with some success. Liam's crude, sparky "Ain't Got Nothin'" holds up his side and his sprawling ballad (the only such effort here) "I'm Outta Time" adds another anthem to their repertoire. Even Gem Archer's "To Be Where There's Life", a bracing slice of undercooked psychedelia, is naggingly catchy. Only Noel's "(Get off Your) High Horse Lady", a pointless rewrite of Tommy Tucker's mod-era favourite "Hi Heel Sneakers" and Andy Bell's ungainly "The Nature of Reality" are downright inessential. Those missteps aside, it's hard to imagine anyone feeling shortchanged by iDig out Your Soul/i. i--Steve Jelbert/i

Could've been great
Oasis have had a critical and commercial resurgence since releasing there brilliant 2005 album 'Don't Believe the Truth', since then Oasis have had a event-free world tour, a Brit Award for Outstanding Contribution to music and have released a Greatest hits album. So now 11 years after releasing Be Here Now, Oasis were releasing there most eagerly awaited album in 11 years, yet like Be Here Now, this album is a little disappointing, although half of the songs on the album rock, they all seem to be written by Noel Gallagher, the songs written by Liam and co are disappointing efforts that should have been binned for songs like Stop the Clocks and I Believe in All. But yet again the older Gallagher owns the album with his hard rocking anthems and self sung anthem/ballads. br / br /Key Tracks:Bag it Up,Waiting for the Rapture,Shock of the Lightning,Falling Down br / br /Also Buy:'Aftermath' by The Rolling Stones

Fab
This is Oasis' 3rd best album behind Def Maybe and Morning Glory. The first 8 songs are incredible. They fly by, just like all great songs should. That's not to say the final 3 are bad. They just don't compare to the other 8, but they would be the best 3 song's on any other CD (if you know what i mean?).Bag It Up, The Turning and Waiting For The Rapture are immense. Noel shows why he is the best song writer in music. Oasis are the kings of the Wall of Sound. Massive guitars, drums, bass and vocals, the choruses are huge. What else can you ask for? Already looking forward to their next album (which Noel says is already written and demoed). If you are interested in any music, this is a must buy. Best album of the year by far and will be the best at the end of it.

INCREDIBLE
Amazing, once you listen to it a few times it starts to really stick in your mind. As good if not better than Don't Believe The Truth. Definetely worth getting

Nothing to dig
I have been given some great moments of musical joy by Oasis over the years but this is not one of them. It's a problem when bands decide to believe in their own greatness and infallibility. This album is clichéd, contrived and the brothers Gallagher conceited, if this was all that they could come up with in 3 years then why bother releasing it? They don't' need the cash or publicity a poor effort hyped by Noel and the music press for maximum profit generation and nothing else.

Good but not great
Bearing in mind the usual expectations of Oasis and the general disappointment that follows each release, this is a nice surprise. br / br /An album generally full of strong tunes, where whilst hardly moving on from past glories, they have played to their strengths and delivered a good set of tunes. br / br /Liam is in fine voice, full of venom and charm where needed and Noel certainly brings the classic Oasis sound to the fore. If there's one complain, it's just this, 'Dig Out Your Soul' perhaps invokes thoughts that perhaps it might just do that, add a little soulful spice and maybe a groove of sorts.....and it does not do that. br / br /The rhythms are pretty stock standard Oasis, but at the end of the say, I dare say that's what most fans want. br / br /All in all well worth the 4 stars and certainly the money to buy the album in the first place!
