Product DescriptionHarrison Ford, Shia LaBeouf, Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone Director: Steven Spielberg
Amazon.co.uk ReviewNearly 20 years after riding his last iCrusade/i, Harrison Ford makes a welcome return as archaeologist/relic hunter Indiana Jones in iIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull/i, an action-packed fourth installment that's, in a nutshell, less memorable than the first three but great nostalgia for fans of the series. Producer George Lucas and screenwriter David Koepp (iWar of the Worlds/i) set the film during the cold war, as the Soviets--replacing Nazis as Indy's villains of choice and led by a sword-wielding Cate Blanchett with black bob and sunglasses--are in pursuit of a crystal skull, which has mystical powers related to a city of gold. After escaping from them in a spectacular opening action sequence, Indy is coerced to head to Peru at the behest of a young greaser (Shia LaBeouf) whose friend--and! Indy's colleague--Professor Oxley (John Hurt) has been captured for his knowledge of the skull's whereabouts. Whatever secrets the skull holds are tertiary; its reveal is the weakest part of the movie, as the CGI effects that inevitably accompany it feel jarring next to the boulder-rolling world of Indy audiences knew and loved. There's plenty of comedy, delightful stunts--ants play a deadly role here--and the return of iRaiders/i love interest Karen Allen as Marion Ravenwood, once shrill but now softened, giving her ex-love bemused glances and eye-rolls as he huffs his way to save the day. Which brings us to Ford: bullwhip still in hand, he's a little creakier, a lot grayer, but still twice the action hero of anyone in film today. With all the anticipation and hype leading up to the film's release, perhaps no reunion is sw! eeter than that of Ford with the role that fits him as snugly ! as that fedora hat. --iEllen A. Kim/i

Indy's still the best at what he does after all these years! We have had many films try and steal Indy's crown over the years such as Sahara, tomb raider, National Treasure, The Da Vinci Code and the Mummy films but they have all failed. 19 Years after the Last Crusade we at long last have the Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull to show all the pretenders how it should be done. Harrison Ford still looks and plays the role of Indy great at the age of 65 what a inspiration he is to us all. Shia Labeouf who was in the film Transformers is great as Indy's son and John Hurt who starred in the first alien film is wonderful to watch as normal. Cate Blanchett who was in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy makes a excellent villain and i must say that Ray Winstone who is most famous for playing in gangster films The Departed being one of them is jolly good too. The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull takes place in the 1950's during the cold war so are hero is taking on the Russians instead of the Nazis which makes sense as indy has aged of course. The story is very good with lots of action and i must say i for one thought the ending was tremendous too. For all those people that thought this film was unrealistic and over the top watch the original films again as the Indiana Jones films have always been far fetched, but for me that is part of the fun and why many people like myself love them. There are lots of special features on this blu-ray two disc to do with the making and the history of Indiana Jones which are all very interesting. The thx surround sound is amazing and the blu-ray transfar is spot on as was expected being a new release. Indiania Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull is a must have film.

In true Indiana Jones traditionI was a little disappointed by this film as I didn't expect Indiana Jones to have alien life forms in the film, but thats just me. On the plus side, it is all the action and swash-buckling adventure you would expect from Indiana Jones. Once I got over the heart break of the aliens, I realised what a great film it was. Highly recommended.

For kids or adults?I waited for the BD-release and have to say that I was very un-impressed by the storyline and to be frank very dissapointed. It felt "Disney-like" as if they have tried to target families rather than adults...waiting almost 20 years and this is the best they can do? give me a break...
