Amazon.co.uk Review
So he's the acoustic-troubadour-James that isn't James Blunt. He's the other one--the one that looks a little like Chris Martin from a distance and who with those two vague affiliations was surely always pre-destined to sell an awful lot of records, even if he was equally condemned to relative anonymity by turning up too late to claim credit for his own image. And if he failed on debut album iUndiscovered/i to distinguish himself all that much from The Other James, particularly with fluid lighter-waving singles "You Give Me Something" and "Wonderful World", then follow-up album iSongs for You, Truths for Me/i is out to redress that. The underlying soul heritage that served as a reference point on iUndiscovered/i but never really pushed to the fore is much more prominent, seen especially as the album blasts opens with groaning, piano-spanking, brass-heavy, Hammond-tinged "The Only Night", something like The Counting Crows do The Commitments, with unmistakable similarities to Aretha Franklin and George Michael's 1987 blockbuster hit "I Knew You Were Waiting". It's the kind of thing you can imagine him winning a Brit Award with, probably with a collaborative performance to boot. "Nothing Ever Hurt Like You" takes those influences to the lounge, "Precious Love" is Otis Redding via Ray LaMontagne, and the Nelly Furtado-featuring "Broken Strings" is a breezy, stirring pop song. Even when he falls back on his debut's established strengths, this is a more than adequate showcase for his powerful voice. i--James Berry/i

James Morrison - Songs for you, Truths for me
br /Last year, the only Album I felt I had to buy was Coldplay, Viva la Vida. I love it and still haven't got fed up with it. This year, I felt compelled to buy James Morrison. I did buy his first album and thought it was really good, with real emotion being expressed in the lyrics. But this album knocks spots of that first one. I love it, it's great. Broken Strings is my favourite track but I love all of them. I love the mix of soul and rock. If I didn't know better I could close my eyes and believe that some of the music was from the 1960's Motown era. His voice is so full of soul, so full of emotion and he is still so young. Personally, I can't get enough of it and it is my record of the year. br / br /James Morrison is a young man of great talent and I hope he makes many more albums of this calibre to keep those of us who remember the 60's young at heart!

2nd album doesn't disappoint!
Well James Morrison has proved that he isn't a one-album wonder. His voice is fantastic and I love every track. Looking forward to seeing him live in December and by then I will know all the words to sing along!!

Best CD I've listened to in a long time. Not a track I didn't enjoy.

Songs for You Truths for me
Am a Morrison Supporter . This Guy has unbridled talent and is extremely creative both lyrically and musically BUT the problem here with this latest offering is that it " does what it says on the Label " br /The Record Company are to blame in duckshoving songs onto a disc in an allfired hurry simply to retain Sales Momentum ---- thats all it is . br /The Result becomes a hurried cobbled together Album Cd interspersed with 3 reasonable tracks.Someone likened James Morrison to James Blunt and We all know who the talented one is but perhaps Morrisons' Record Label doesn't . My suggestion for Morrison is to change the label before regretably he too becomes labelled. br /He has too good a talent for Record Company directed Album treadmilling .
