Bought both SlingCatcher and SlingBox Pro
When I travel to Greece from the U.S., I enable the SlingCatcher to watch U.S. TV in Greece from my SlingBox Pro in New York. When I leave Greece, I enable the SlingBox Pro so I can watch Greek TV in New York on my SlingCatcher there. To accomplish this, I own 2 SlingCatchers and 2 SlingBox Pros (2 for each side of the pond!). These are very easy to use especially when watching from a DVR since the 7 hour time difference has no effect when you want to watch things you previously recorded. I highly recommend if you miss watching TV from Home wherever that might be!!!

Perfect companion to SlingBox
I can't believe that there are negative reviews for this product - it's great!

I am an ex-pat living in Germany and cannot stand the "local" TV (all 70's repeats) so a SlingBox in the UK has been my saviour for the last 2 years. There were 2 problems with this setup that the SlingCatcher nicely solves:

1) Previously, I needed to have my laptop connected to the TV to get a nice picture size for the whole family to watch which was annoying to connect each time and left cables hanging around the TV for the little ones to pull on. The SlingCatcher is tiny any just sits there nice and neatly waiting for us at any time

2) No remote control! Try watching TV without a remote control for a while and then imagine this for 2 years! Every time we needed to fast forward through the adverts someone (i.e. me) had to get up from the sofa and use the virtual remote on the PC sling software. While it may be good for a bit of exercise, sometimes I just want to lie on the sofa in peace.

So.. Is it worth £200 to make the living room a bit cleaner and to allow me to have a remote control when watching TV? Absolutely. Every penny.

The other features (Sling Projector, etc) are a great bonus too but for me, being the "other half" of the SlingBox was the reason for purchase!

Disappointing
Having waited for a long long time for the (much delayed) launch of the product, when I finally had it up and running, I was underwhelmed by the product. The user interface is fiddly and I too fell foul of the non-compatibility with Homenetwork and was forced to stretch a cable across the room. The main downside though is the price at £199. This is far too expensive for what you get. I would consider buying a PC instead, running slingplayer and with a G or N wifi and an HDMI connection and a built in hard drive.

Eagerly Anticipated - Subsequently Disappointed
I, like many others, had eagerly waited many months for the Slingcatcher to be released to join my Slingbox Pro. My primary intention was to use the Slingcatcher on a second TV at home on a Homeplug 200 Mbps AV network. However, sadly although easy to set up, the image quality was at best poor and the Slingcatcher image feed on the second TV kept freezing or becoming juddery after about 3 minutes. I contacted Slingmedia support who, although very helpful, advised me that Slingcatcher is not compatible with Homeplug network technology (whereas the Slingbox Pro is) and works best on a hard wired ethernet cable network. Sadly, my patience gave up after 5 days trying to get the Slingcatcher to provide a stable video feed and I returned the Slingcatcher for a full refund. Hopefully the technology will improve to allow for Homeplug use and allow for HD Picture quality in the future.
